LC / IF - a diamond is called Loupe Clean and Internally Flawless when no internal and external spots / flaws are found by an experienced grader with a loupe magnifying x 10 Loupe Clean.
VVS1 - Diamond with Very Very Small inclusions 1st degree. Extremely difficult to detect even by experienced grader with a loupe magnifying x 10 Loupe Clean.
VVS2 - Diamond with Very Very Small inclusions and spots of 2nd degree. Extremely difficult to detect even by experienced grader with a loupe magnifying x 10 Loupe Clean.
VS1 - Diamond with Very Small inclusions / flaws 1st degree. Difficult to detect even by experienced grader with a loupe magnifying x 10 Loupe Clean.
VS2 - Diamond with Very Small inclusions / flaws 2 nd degree. Difficult to detect even by experienced grader with a loupe magnifying x 10 Loupe Clean.
SI1 - Diamond with Small Inclusions / flaws 1st degree. Eye Clean.
Detectable with a loupe magnifying x 10
SI2 / SI3 - Diamond with Small Inclusions / flaws 2 nd degree and 3 nth degree.
Detectable with a loupe magnifying x 10 Sometimes Eye Clean
I1 / P1 - Diamond with Inclusions 1st degree. Detectable by naked eye and easily with a loupe magnifying x 10 - Small spots / flaws Detectable by experienced naked eye. Also named Pique 2
I2 / P2 - Diamond with Inclusions : flaws 2 nd degree. Visible by naked eye.
Also named Pique 2
I3 / P3 - Diamond with Inclusions / flaws 3 th degree. Obvious inclusions, easily visible by naked eye. That affect transparency and brilliance. Also named Pique 3
Conclusions:
Most inclusions / flaws or spots cannot be seen without magnification. They do not affect the diamond brilliance. It is only from category I 2 / I3 that imperfections affect the brilliance and the clarity. They affect the beauty of the diamond.
Best Buy: choose first of all the best cut, proportions and polishing. That gives the brilliance to your diamond. Second: choose a better color. Third: Replace the top clarity by a lower clarity and switch for the same price by a better color!
